Chompix® Base Design

Chompix® went through several improvisations, additions & modifications through a process of customer feedback taken from various coffee cafe owners who are also prospective Chompix® customers, using PET cups & bottles on a daily basis.
Version 2- Including Heating Element
14 September 2021
Replaced the compressor with a Heating Element as it is more efficient, uses less power and holds the plastic together.
Version 3- Compressor with Hydraulic Cylinder
06 December 2021
Removed the Heating Element as that itself would cause pollution. Improved the compressor to make it a hydraulic press. The plunger inside the Hydraulic Cylinder compresses the plastic into a block that will stay together.
Version 4- Conveyor Belt Detailed Design

Included telescopic mechanism in the conveyor belt to give it an adjustable length and pretension mechanism to avoid slack in the conveyor belt.
Version 5- Shredder Assembly New Design
20 July 2022
Upgraded the shredder to increase efficiency. Changed the shape of the shredder blades to make it more effective in grabbing and shredding.
Version 6- Creating Compactness
16 August 2022
Conveyor belt has been completely revamped making it compact. This new design prevents plastic shreds from going outside.
Version 7- Improving Structure and Reducing Weight
03 October 2022
Added scaffolding with cross members and a C channel giving structure to hold all the components. This structure also reduces the overall weight impact. Necessary motors have been added.
Casing for the Device
29 October 2022
Designed 2 different casings for Chompix®. The casings have accessible door and hinged windows.
